This film belongs to Kangana Ranaut, who plays a double role, and manages it in the most brilliant way.

The way she adapts to a Haryana athlete studying in Delhi University is simply amazing.

The original ‘Tanu’ portrays themselves as even more sophisticated, urbane, vulnerable, glamorous, and dramatic.

‘Datto’ exhibits practicality, focus, strength, and a clear sense of direction.

Hey, she even fights with her family to marry Sharmaji (Madhavan).

It’s really amazing how Kangana always gets into the skin of the character and picks up her acceptance, style and attitude so effortlessly.

As much as I think, I can’t even imagine Priyanka or Anushka trying to do a role like this.

Vidya Balan is the only name I can think of right now who can give her a run for her money in the most important department of acting.

Hats off!

And, Madhavan! He managed to maintain the consistency of his character Sharmaji, who is confused, angry and lost, he is doing something he doesn’t really believe in; he still loves Tanu, but still he falls for Datto’s charm, and embarks on a journey that changes everything.

Jimmy Shergill’s Raja Awasthi gets less footage, but his existence is very important. He again finds himself a victim when it comes to getting married; but he takes it easy this time and doesn’t make much noise. It is the internal battle between Tanu and Manu that is the soul of the film. Datto is the catalyst, and increases the already existing gap between the two of them.
