I have to say I was shocked when I read other users’ comments about this movie.
After seeing “The Family Man” on opening night, I didn’t read users’ comments before seeing it myself.
I walked out of the theater stunned. I really wanted something to touch me.
I’m single, young, and consider myself a horror buff…I don’t usually like sentimental movies.
But when I first saw the previews, I wanted to see “The Family Man”.
Not only do I like Nicolas Cage, but this movie tackles the age-old question, “What if???”.
Who hasn’t wondered where the road of life would have taken them if they had made a different choice?
This is a movie about evaluation. I read a lot of comments that said “he has a lot of money, he doesn’t seem unhappy, blah blah blah”. True.
Jack is a good guy, he can buy whatever he wants…but money can’t buy happiness.

Maybe to a certain extent, but deep inside, you can’t buy your emotions.
That’s what this movie tries to show. Living a luxurious lifestyle, he was happy.
Then he remembers his one true love, and he gets a “glimpse” of what could have been.
After everything he gets a chance to experience in the movie, he evaluates his rich, powerful life and finds that there was always an emptiness.
While he had everything, he didn’t have the love of others. He had their respect, but not their love.
This isn’t your typical sentimental love story.
And if you want to watch it with that mindset, you’ll probably be disappointed because there are a lot more deeper things in this movie.
While we’re told that the love between the couple is undeniable…
Ultimately, Jack manages to fall in love with his wife again during his glimpse.

The best part about this movie is that it forces you to turn to your friends, family, and lovers
Thank yourself for all the choices you’ve made in your life that have brought you to that point.
And if you’re unhappy at that point in your life, it makes you realize that you can change it.
I totally recommend watching this movie and reading about it in more depth than you think.
You can watch it for entertainment, or you can let it take over you.
Remember, money can’t buy happiness…
